I was sent into the stands for yesterday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa with only one real mission – stay off the field and document a Bucs fan’s life. ESPN the Magazine called with a strange request. Hey (paraphrasing) can you go to Miami and photograph a MLB baseball player making sushi? Umm, sure? The return of the creamsicle. Love it. I actually really dig the NFL throwback games, because as fun as NFL games are to cover, every Sunday tends to have a bit of Groundhog’s Day effect visually. The Red Vest Society is a clandestine community of sports photographers limited by painted yellow lines and laminated pieces of papers strung around necks.
